The most popular game out or maybe ever is Modern Warfare 2. I feel that I have a good amount of knowledge about this game and I wanted to help people out if they needed it. So first off, this game is so user friendly that nobody should have a disadvantage. Everything in the game is actually there to help you. Nobody gets anything extra , since everything just comes with rank. So I’ll tie that into this guide.
Perks
Perks are what makes this game different from other games and also beginner friendly. There are so many perks to perfect your game. If You aren’t the best run and gun player, then don’t equip marathon and ninja. That’s where I see a lot of people’s problems. They start to equip perks that won’t help them with their own strong points. Mine are as follows.. Scavenger- I’ll never run out of ammo. So there is no reason to get rid of my original gun when I get on a long kill streak. Hard-line- Gets your kill streaks with one less kill. This helps a lot when you want higher kill games. Steady Aim- This one’s an absolute must for me. You won’t always have time to switch to your secondary when in close quarters. So being able to point your primary weapon quickly helps a lot. I also used my second kill streak as Stopping Power. It increase bullet damage but I’ve realized that you won’t need this in this game as much as the first. Since I sometimes rush but also can be a flanking player. These perks work perfectly with my playing style. Death streaks also play a part but not as big. They only play a small part because you only get one after every 4 deaths but also make sure to use these to your advantage.
Weapons
Choose your weapon wisely!!!!! There are 5 catagories: Assault rifles, Sub Machine guns, Light Machine guns, Sniper Rifels and the Riot Shield. Assault Rifles are very accurate depending on which one you have. The ACR is very accurate but isn’t nearly as strong as the AK47. Though the AK47 is very powerful, It's accuracy is very low. Choosing a class of gun isn't the hardest part. Someone who plays to flank and get in the middle of battle should go for a Sub Machine gun. The reason is because the gun is small and light making it easier to pull up the sight and shoot. Assault Rifles work best at medium range with more power than the Subs, but they aren't as effective close range since the gun is heavier. So I would suggest them for a player as myself. I flank and I hold each area down from point to point. A Light Machine gun is very heavy and has a very large ammo magazine. I would suggest them if you don't have the best accuracy and wont move around too much. I say this because these are the most powerful guns. So if you were to miss a few shots, it wouldn't be as crucial since the power is making up for it. Also if you don't run around too much, Its easier to pull up the sight and fire on the enemy that way. Snipers speak for themselves. You snipe and this is the only class where camping is actually encouraged. The only thing is... barely anyone does! Snipers in this game are used to quick scope. Quick scoping is an art in its own but not everyone can do it. With that said, I would stick to normal sniping from afar with these guns. Riot shields are a new weapon. They block bullets making it a great tool while playing objective based games. The only thing that can stop them is shooting open body or sticking the shield with semtex. There isnt much else to say about it.. So if you use these for a little bit of guidance, it could help you find the gun that could make you an even better player.
Weapon Attachments
Also, You will want to put the weapon attachments into play. I won't even bother to bring up the noob tube. Honestly, if you use them for anything other than to get more kills for a better scope; then I believe you won't need any help with that. Noob tubing is an easy way for kills and it is being abused in this game horribly. The attachments are used best with scopes. Red dot, Holographic and Acog scope. The Red Dot and the Holographic sight are pretty much the same. The only difference is the circle around the holographic's sights dot. With most guns there is no noticeable difference but some have better accuracy on different sights. So whichever one you find better should be best for you. The Acog scope isn't as much for people who rush. It takes a little bit longer pull up to your target but the Acog is very accurate. There is also Thermal scope, it uses thermal to highlight the enemies therefore making it easier to find them. Some weapons also have a shotgun attachment which is exactly what it says it is. The other attachment is FMJ. It increases the rate of fire. I think if you can control the gun at that speed, then you should use it as it will be very helpful to you.
Tips and hints.
Call of Duty is simple... Whoever shoots first usually can win the gun fight (without perks, death streaks and etc..). So there are some things that can help you with your style of play.
First off, Try to never keep yourself fully vulnerable to the enemy. Not hiding but you force the enemy to hit a smaller target than you have to. Example- If you are behind a box, car, crate then the enemy only has your head to aim at. Being one of the smallest parts of your body means that the enemy has to have a lot of skill to be able to kill you.
Some people may believe that camping doesn't make you better and it doesn't. A good thing to do is secure a small area of the map. Somewhere where you have plenty of points to run to. Somewhere that you can feel comfortable. This gives you an advantage of being able to get the enemy from many different points. As well as brings the enemy back for revenge kills. Once You are in your alternate position, the enemy won't know where to attack you from.
Play with people that you know as much as possible. Playing with friends/clan gives a major advantage. I believe clans that only do the same type of play are weaker. Clans need variety! Have a sniper, a flanker, rusher and etc.. Designating a player to each asset of the game, will give your team an edge. One of the best things is to designate one player to destroying the enemy aircrafts. Being able to knock down those harriers is the greatest thing to do. Stopping the enemy from being able to get those large kill streaks will help you get to victory.
Each player should use the kill streaks to your advantage. There is no reason to attempt a large kill streak as a rushing player. UAV's are very helpful for team games and only require 3 kills (2 with Hardline). This can help the more skilled shooters find the opposing team to lead to those bigger kill streaks.
If you aren't playing with friends or your team, then stick to what you are good at. If Free for All is your thing, then you should play on that playlist to e able to play your best. Venturing to something that you may not be good at will only get you frustrated. Since players in different game types won't all play the same.
Be ready for the unexpected! Noob tubes, Knives and quick scoping snipers. People with these classes can come by very unexpectedly. Using a gaming headset or even headphones will help you know if someone is trying to sneak up on you or just even around you.
I use these to help my game. I know it may not be too in depth but I at least wanted to get the point across and help some who may be new to the game. Hopefully you found this helpful and if you have anything that you want to add just tell me. Thanks for reading.
